Bacon Green beans
Bacon makes everything better, even green beans.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb fresh green beans
- 4 slices uncooked bacon
- 1/4 c white onion, thinly sliced
- salt + pepper
Instructions:
- Rinse green beans and remove the ends and break in half.
- Fill a 3qt saucepan with water about 3/4 full and add a little salt. Bring water to a boil and add green beans. Boil the green beans for 10-12 minutes.
- Strain the green beans and set aside. Rinse the saucepan to continue using.
- Cut the bacon slices into 2-3 inch pieces and place in the bottom of the saucepan and add the onions. On medium heat, cook the bacon pieces for 7-8 minutes or until bacon is fully cooked, but still a little soft.
- Add the green beans to the saucepan with the cooked bacon and onions. Gently stir. Then, add in salt and pepper to your taste and continue to stir gently until the butter is melted and the green beans are well seasoned.
Enjoy!
