Little PigS-in-a-blanket

These Little Pigs-in-a-Blanket are a staple in our house. We eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner…and sometimes for snack. They are also a fun cooking activity for toddlers if they want to help out.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans crescent rolls (8 count)
  • 1 12 oz package Lit’l Smokies (or similar cocktail sausage)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to temperature noted on crescent roll package.
  2. Open crescent packages and unroll dough. Slice the precut triangles in half – making two long strips of dough from each triangle and set aside.
  3. Take one dough strip and place sausage at thickest part of the strip and roll the sausage to the tip of the strip, wrapping the sausage in the dough. Repeat with each dough strip.
  4. Place the wrapped sausages on a foil-lined baking sheet with room for each wrapped sausage to slightly expand.
  5. Bake in the oven at the designated temperature for the amount of time noted on the crescent packaging (usually 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees). The dough should be a light golden brown when done.
