My Mom backpack

There are many responsibilities that come with being a parent of young children, one of which is toting around all their stuff. As parents, we must be fully stocked and prepared, but also unencumbered by our bag of stuff. After a few years of mom bag toting, I learned a thing or two and feel qualified to share my favorite mom backpack and a few of the “must-haves” I keep in it.

The key to successfully carrying all the kid stuff is a great bag. I carried a few different mom bags in the first year I had a baby, and my Jujube Be Right Back backpack has been the best. It is stylish, functional, comfortable, and durable. It has been my tried and true partner for outings with my kids for over three years. It transitioned perfectly from baby, to baby and toddler, to multiple toddler toting. It allows me to be hands-free with ample storage and intuitive organization pockets and pouches. The Jujube backpack is my top-pick for managing and carrying all your baby and toddler things. I have the Queen of the Nile print (as pictured), but there are a wide variety of print options.

One of my favorite things to carry in my mom backpack is this adorable, personalized “snacks” bag from Trio Packs. Since snacks are high on our outing necessities list, I like to store them in a way they are easy to find and accessible by the kids without them having to dig through the whole backpack. The snack bag fits perfectly inside the backpack, it’s easy to find and see what’s in the snack bag, I can hand it to the kids, and it’s personalized. It has also proved to be a stylish bag that is durable and easy to wipe down.

In addition to diapers and a change of clothes for each kid, there are a few other items I almost always have in my mom backpack. Most importantly, my favorite diaper wipes, Water Wipes. I have used these for years and have not found any diaper wipes I like better. They are great for changing diapers, cleaning up accidents, and wiping dirty hands and faces.

The disposable placemats are a game-changer for eating at a table in a restaurant, at a park or at someone’s house. Stick one on the table, avoid the table germs, let the mess happen, wrap it up and put it in the trash. Done.

The Welly bandage box is a recent addition, but a great addition for the scrapes and boo-boos that happen at the park or on an adventure. The bandages are made out of a soft fabric and come in a variety of kid-friendly patterns. The kids love them.

The Munchkin diaper bag dispenser has saved me a lot of stink and embarrassment. When you are stuck with a gross, dirty diaper and don’t want to expose everyone else to the smell, these bags are a lifesaver. They also are nice to have to temporarily hold unexpectedly dirty or wet clothes.

Disinfecting wipes are a must in any going out bag these days. These come in handy for wiping down a grocery cart, cleaning a mess or spill in the car, swing handles and anything else that might need a little cleaning before being touched. I like the Lysol ones, but I think just about any kind will be helpful.

Happy Toting!
