Tia's seasoned shrimp

Ingredients:

  • 1.5lbs fresh shrimp (about 20 shrimp per pound size), peeled, deveined and rinsed
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp paprika 
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp green ancho chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (use a 1/2 tsp if you want a lot of kick)
  • 1 tbsp scallions, chopped
  • a squeeze of fresh lemon juice 

Instructions:

  1.  Combine paprika, salt, cumin, green ancho chili powder and cayenne pepper in a small bowl. 
  2. Place the shrimp in a large bowl and add the seasoning. Gently stir to combine and cover the shrimp in the seasoning. Set aside. 
  3.  Melt butter in large skillet on medium heat. Then, add garlic and slightly brown (3-4 minutes). 
  4. Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet and cook for 5-6 minutes, stirring regularly to fully cook and coat in butter. Remove from heat, top with a squeeze of lemon and scallions.
* Delicious with a side of cheese grits or rice and asparagus.
