Tia's seasoned shrimp
Ingredients:
- 1.5lbs fresh shrimp (about 20 shrimp per pound size), peeled, deveined and rinsed
- 4 tbsp butter
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp green ancho chili powder
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (use a 1/2 tsp if you want a lot of kick)
- 1 tbsp scallions, chopped
- a squeeze of fresh lemon juice
Instructions:
- Combine paprika, salt, cumin, green ancho chili powder and cayenne pepper in a small bowl.
- Place the shrimp in a large bowl and add the seasoning. Gently stir to combine and cover the shrimp in the seasoning. Set aside.
- Melt butter in large skillet on medium heat. Then, add garlic and slightly brown (3-4 minutes).
- Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet and cook for 5-6 minutes, stirring regularly to fully cook and coat in butter. Remove from heat, top with a squeeze of lemon and scallions.
* Delicious with a side of cheese grits or rice and asparagus.
